Most famous surgical and non-surgical interventions
During the last ten years, the general view has been that breast augmentation was the most popular cosmetic surgery operation. General ISAPS survey reveals a new trend in which liposuction represents 18.8% of all surgical interventions, followed by the bre*st augmentation which represents 17%, blepharoplasty (lower or upper eyelid elevation) that is 13.5%, Rhinoplasty (modification of the shape of the nose) which represents 9.4% and the Abdominoplasty ("Tummy Tuck") which represents a 7.3%.
The popularity of surgical interventions varied depending on the country, with United States, China, India, Brazil, Mexico and Japan the dominant countries for 5 major speeches. Reflecting both advances in innovation of cosmetic surgery and the desire for less expensive treatments, the number of surgeries performed by plastic surgeons surpassed the surgical interventions. While there is no information of previous reference with which to compare these figures, there is no doubt that events have made a drastic turn.
The 5 major surgical interventions are: injections of toxins or neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport) (32.7%), injections of hyaluronic acid (20.1%), laser hair removal (13.1%), autologous fat injections (transfer fat from one part of the patients another part of the same) (5.9%) and IP (4.4%) laser treatment.
Totals - finally the credible reference
The global survey of ISAPS also provides important statistical data regarding the total number of certified individuals (or national equivalent) today as plastic surgeons in exercise; approximately 30.817. He is estimated that the total number of surgical interventions is to 8.536.379 and on non-surgical interventions, to 8.759.187 - which makes the world total of surgical and non-surgical interventions carried out by certified plastic surgeons ascend to 17.295.557. (This figure does not have in mind surgical and non-surgical interventions carried out by not plastic surgeons.).Keywords :
